💡 Fun Fact
A baby turkey is called a “poult,” but did you know that for the first few days of their lives, they are almost completely dependent on “social learning”? Unlike chicks, local poults can be a bit “forgetful” about where their water and food are. Farmers often put a few baby chicks in the brooder with the poults; the chicks act as tutors, teaching the turkeys how to eat and drink. It’s a literal case of “follow the leader” to stay healthy!
